Dirt Bro Elite Infield Camp

  • 2 Day Camp
  • Day 1 – 10:00am-4:30pm
  • Day 2 – 8:00am-2:30pm
  • Parents are welcomed and encouraged to get up close and listen while instruction takes place.
  • Campers should bring molded cleats or turfs for work on the turf field.
  • Metal spikes are not allowed on the turf area.

Mongero² “Dirt Bro” Elite Infield Academy 

A player’s two full days with veteran Infield coach and former UNCW Seahawk, Trent Mongero and his son Taber, who was a 4 year Division 1 – starting shortstop at UNCW and is now the infield coach and director of player development at UNCW, will be filled with learning, implementing, and improving the key physical and mental tools that will allow a player to catapult their infield play to next level and beyond.

  • This camp is 100% appropriate for rising college players on down to 6th grade…Yes, even graduated seniors will grow as a player, and that is a guarantee.

  • Throwing mechanics used by top college infielders and professional players that allow for short, repeatable, consistent throws and often improved velocity.

  • Infield IQ and situational awareness that make a player more desirable and help them earn the trust of coaches. Which in return, creates more playing time opportunities.

  • Ways to significantly increase a player’s range (ability to cover ground and make more plays).

  • Campers will learn and implement critical pre-game and pre-practice “routines.”

  • Everything will be taught and implemented to the highest level.

The “Dirt Bro” Elite Infield Academy is nothing short of a comprehensive infield play experience. It is a camp, if you will, that actually delivers! A player’s two full days with veteran Infield coach, Trent Mongero and his son, who is a 4 year Division 1 – starting shortstop, will be filled with learning, implementing, and improving the key physical and mental tools that will allow a player to catapult their infield play to next level and beyond. This camp is for serious baseball players only and space is limited.  This academy is NOT about hundreds of fungos.  It is, however, about growth, development and positive change that can significantly transform in-game performance.

Current high school and middle school players will be privy to critical skills and drills that will help them on their journey to and through HS, and ultimately, one day reach their personal goals as a baseball player.

Infield Drills

Throwing mechanics used by top college infielders and professional players that allow for short, repeatable, consistent throws and often improved velocity.

Daily Routines

Campers will learn and implement critical pre-game and pre-practice “routines.” Detailed Infield “catch play routine” that will transform an infielder’s throwing ability and accuracy, over time.

Assess Strength & Weaknesses

Players will also learn how to assess their strengths and weaknesses in order to develop a personal weekly/monthly/yearly training calendar to strategically reduce weaknesses.

Baseball IQ

Infield IQ and situational awareness that make a player more desirable and help them earn the trust of coaches. Which in return, creates more playing time opportunities.

Mental Game & Manage Pressure

Introduce “mental tools” that allow players to “manage pressure,” anxiety, doubts, and worries… while trying out or playing games, even the biggest game moments of a season or tournament.

Character & Integrity Training

Character and integrity training. Share what college coaches and pro scouts desire in a prospect and don’t want in a player. What physical tools must be developed, and to what standard, to play infield in college..including the D1, power 5, level.
